Alfred's New Ramblings

In Conversation 18

Me: Let us have Prawn noodles for lunch?

Dau: What about me? How can I eat when I am getting my hair done?
Me: Use an intravenous drip.
Wife: With a lot of screaming.

When the daughter was much younger, she had to be hospitalized for continuous high fever. She was given antibiotics intravenously. For young children, this is done via a tube at the back of the hand. The lower arm is splint and the tube with a needle is installed for the duration of the stay. The splint and needling were done with blankets as straitjackets accompanied by lots of screaming and crying.
