Skyfire has now gone live. There were significant improve since the last time I reviewed it. The production version I am now using is 220.127.116.1195
Skyfire now comes with a handy zoom feature. Moving the cursor over the web page, it intelligently knows what are the objects there, text, pictures and/or tables. Double click to zoom in the picture or table will fill the width of the screen nicely.
As can be seen the picture above, text rendering has very much improved. The beta that I first used, convert all the text into square boxes. Now the text and three column layout were kept intact and I could zoom in too.
The bookmarks function appears to survive its journey from into production. It is kept on the proxy server, not locally in your device. Hence if you have large collection of bookmarks, doing something so mundane can incur data charges. The picture below shows the bookmark and the moving status bar. Need to look into how the bookmarks are managed. Is it tracked by IMEI or subscriber number?
