Mother of all birthday parties, well sort of.

Just finished the biennial barbeque.  It is also a way to celebrate all the November babies birthdays.  Lets count them, children, nephew, Mother and me.

Just like the last time, we ended up with a abundance of food, which is not too bad.  Especially most of it are going to end up inside me. The remaining pack of charcoal grew to two packs, which is bad.

What is “biennial”?  Every two years duh.

Hmm may be if we do it every year we might get better at planning this?

  1. Defrost the satay! From this excellent supplier.
  2. The otah though not frozen needs more time to cook. link
  3. Curry is a waste of time.
  4. Same goes for prawns.
  5. Prepare some kids friendly dishes!

In Conversation 2

I was sending my son to his year end concert.  When he said “Papa whose is going to send mama to my school?”.  I replied “Papa will later send her”.

To my amazement, he said, “Ok, because Mummy don’t know how to take the train to my school.”  I said “Are you sure?  Do you mean Mummy or Mummy’s Mummy?”.

He said, “Noooo, Mummy don’t know how to take the train!!”

Pecan Pie

After a full day at work on a Sunday for quarterly maintenance, went home and baked two pies.  Pecan pie on the top rack and custard pie on lower.

Pecan Pie in the oven

The pastry for both pies turned out beautiful and crumbly.  The Pecan pie is delicious but the same can’t be said of the custard.  There is a strange herb taste.

November babies

Its time of the year again, where all the birthdays are occurring in one month.   To make things heavier on the waistline, the kids are celebrating with their cousins and parties, which means more cake!
