Guns animation
I have always been fascinated by guns, how they pack so much mechanical automation in a such a small package.

Traffic circle or circus or roundabouts are fast disappearing in Singapore. Most have been removed for the more efficient signalized traffic junction. The few remaining circles are Suntec City Roundabout, Serangoon Garden Circle and Newton Circle. Newton Circle is signalized during peak hours.
As a result most drivers are not confident on what to do when approaching or in a roundabout. I have observed it is more of a case monkey see monkey do. My own driving theory lessons, a large number of years ago, don't cover handling roundabout.
The results are in, Barisan Nasional got slapped on the head. They won't 142 out of 222 seats. That works out to 63.96% majority. Much less than 1969 when it secured 69%. That time people died in riots that followed.
Usually I do not do social commentry, but it has been really nagging me.
Recently I started MRT train rides on SMRT and SBS Transit lines. I have been driving and carpark rates in the City is ridiculous, so park and ride is more wallet friendly.
I noticed that there are some passengers insist on playing their favourite tunes on their handphone speakers. Once was rap and the other day was Chinese songs. On both occasions, fairly mainstream music, not very annoying but I prefer my sound of rumbling trains.
What gives?
"Hold on I really got to write this down", from a scene in Memento. Several successful people, including a PSLE top scorer attribute their succes to writing down their goals.
Now courtesy of Mr Wang, there is a do it yourself guide.

Published on the Straits Times Forum page that is. It was fifty fifty until my latest letter on the SAF got printed. They normally notify you that your letter is going to print but this time round no calls or SMS. Hmm may be I should start writing more often.
If you having been following up, I have been struggling with a technical issue that is related to my project to install Photo Galleries. From Learning Movable Type there was this tutorial with link to thegirliematters on how to backup the templates. Looks like a major productivity saver. Just remember to lock down the backup folder.
I am experiencing technical difficulties and I hope to resolve this soon. Hopefully not through a massive re-install.
All this started because I wanted to install the jaw dropping beautiful templates for the Photo Gallery. The ISP had problems getting Magick to work and moved my site to another server. So now I am not sure if it is the Photo Gallery, Perl/Magick, MT is having problems. Hopefully not all three!
So no posts for the duration.
Or more accurately known as Meals Ready to Eat or MRE. Some people swear the real name is Meals Rejected by Ethiopians. Doctors called it Meals Require Enemas.
In fairness, MREs have come a long way. I was told that the first few versions were really terrible. Just sardines, biscuits (hard tack) and lemonade powder. Lemonade powder with sardines became assam fish. Yeah tried eating that cold while maintaining a ready watch, ie. lying prone in mud. A few friends told me that is enough to put you off sardines forever.
I was running the query in Google to see why should one blog. There were several answers to the question, from identifying with one's tribe to the more existential ones like Sandhill Trek:
Herman Melville put it best when he said, "We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results." A perfect description of blogging, don't you think?
PER.sg is a very Singpaorean phenomenon. Invented by IDA to increase the number of personal webpages without all the papework required of COM.sg or even stricter ORG.sg I have always wondered if there are any other websites on .per.sg domain. So running a Google search reveals all.

Took Ted to a colleagues' Hari Raya Celebration. Every year, to celebrate the Malay New Year, big do is organised at her house. Her family will invite all the relatives, friends and colleagues over for lunch or dinner. Everyone would pack into her house and tuck in on her mom's cooking.
