Always read the fine print

How many times have you bought something and later realized that is "not supported on this platform" or the famous PCIe x8/x16 or 32/64/128 bit interface comaptibility.

Graphics / Video / Display adapters are now changing really fast, perhaps faster than what most people would realise. On the PC, these plug in adapters are using AGP4/8 or PCIe x16 (128 bit). Whereas on a typical server, you would have PCIe x4/8, maybe a legacy PCI 32 bit slots, definitely no AGP slots.

Some graphics software requires a specific brand or model of adapters and these adapters may be incompatible with servers. Hence always read the fine print on system and hardware compatibility before buying.
